The Rig: AMS PowerProbe 9130 VTR-D

 True limited-access footprint. Fits through a standard 36-inch commercial doorway, allowing drilling inside occupied buildings and other confined spaces.

 Production-class power. Advances MC5 macro-core samplers to typical depths of 30 to 40 feet bgs (site conditions permitting), recovering continuous, intact soil cores.

SEC owns and operates an AMS PowerProbe 9130 VTR-D, a track-mounted, limited-access direct-push drilling rig built for the sites conventional drill rigs can’t reach. Compact enough to fit through a standard 36-inch commercial doorway, the 9130 VTR-D brings full-size production power into basements, warehouses, courtyards, fenced utility corridors, and other tight or interior work areas—advancing MC5 macro-core samplers to depths of 30 to 40 feet below ground surface (bgs).

Because we own and operate our rig in-house, our clients get faster scheduling, seamless coordination between field geologists and drilling operations, and a single point of accountability from work plan through final report.

Our drilling services support soil exploration and geotechnical investigation, including:

 Geotechnical soil borings and subsurface soil characterization

 Soil sampling in support of Phase II Environmental Site Assessments

 Pre-development and due-diligence soil exploration

 Continuous soil core logging for geologic and stratigraphic evaluation

 Soil sampling for laboratory analysis of contaminants of concern Licensing and Qualifications

All drilling is performed under the direction of a licensed geologist, whose license authorizes geotechnical borings for the purpose of soil exploration. SEC is a licensed, bonded, and insured contractor in the State of Oregon. SEC is not a licensed well constructor in Oregon or Washington and does not construct, alter, or decommission wells. For projects that require monitoring well installation or other well construction services, we coordinate with licensed well construction contractors as part of an integrated project team.
